Utah State Legislature
In Utah, we have a citizen legislature rather
than a full-time legislature; most legislators have occupations outside the legislature
when we are not in session. Our annual session lasts 45 days beginning on the third Monday
in January. During this time we operate what is called an open legislative process where
all committee action on bills and amendments is conducted in open session -- giving you
the opportunity to attend committee meetings and House and Senate floor sessions.
